What are the solutions that Emerson has for the built environment that were showcased at COP28?
Our exhibit showcased how Automation Technology and Industrial Software can help industries monitor and reduce emissions, target energy consumption across their plant operations, and plan towards the imminent Energy Transition.
Within each Focus Area — Emissions Reduction, Energy Management, and Energy Transition, our range of presented technologies empower stakeholders across the energy industry to make an immediate and substantial impact while providing scalable solutions for operations and enterprise implementation.
From an Energy Management standpoint, Emerson helps companies:
- Monitor everyday energy use through compressed air systems and combustion processes.
- Scale to site wide monitoring and dashboards to get a holistic view of how energy is used across your plan.
- Look for optimisation opportunities across unit level operations and different processes that consume energy.
As for emissions reduction, Emerson helps industrial operators and companies reduce emissions by effective monitoring and detection, prevention and prediction of emissions outcomes which allows for optimised combustion processes.
Moving to new energy systems, we took a deeper look at efficient carbon capture, steam methane reforming (Blue Hydrogen) or electrolysis (Green Hydrogen), and hydrogen transport infrastructure; precise monitoring of networks, and field tested-high pressure valves and instruments that help with safe and efficient transport of hydrogen.
How is the company accelerating towards its net- zero goals ?
Emerson is a recognised leader in advancing the clean energy transition, providing sustainability enabling technologies to some of the world’s most critical industries. Through our environmental sustainability framework – Greening Of, Greening By and Greening With Emerson – we’re driving toward a more sustainable future.
Tell us about the greening concept of the company in construction and building infrastructure?
Greening Of Emerson
At Emerson, we are working to improve internal environmental performance across our global business. In 2022, Emerson’s emissions targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative, including a goal to reach net zero operations by 2030.
Greening By Emerson
Emerson is applying its technologies and expertise to support and enable customers’ decarbonisation and environmental sustainability efforts. Our solutions support the environmental sustainability progress of our customers in four strategic areas:
- Energy source decarbonisation
- Energy and emissions management
- Electrification and grid system
- Circularity and waste management
Greening With Emerson
We use our technical perspective and global reach to collaborate with key stakeholders to discuss the way forward to a more sustainable future.
Emerson’s efforts are driven by three main strategies:
- Engaging governments and industry groups
- Collaborating with leading research educational institutions
- Convening leaders and communities
