In a bid to eliminate mosquitoes and encourage people to enjoy outdoor spaces more often, PID Owners Association Management LLC (PID OAM), a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, has setup eco-friendly mosquito traps in the Green Community at Dubai Investment Park (DIP).
The electric traps, provided by Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities management (FM) services in the UAE, run on electricity and are eco-friendly and non-polluting, making Green Community DIP, the first in Dubai to have this system installed across the entire community.
Under the terms of a recently signed contract, Imdaad will supply, install, and maintain the eco-friendly Mosquito Control System, which is ideal for residential areas as it is free of insecticides.
The agreement was signed by Saood Al Mutaiwee, General Manager, PID OAM, and Jamal Abdulla Lootah, Group CEO of Imdaad. Saood said that PID OAM’s association with Imdaad will help in supporting its commitment towards maintaining cleaner, safer, and happier communities. “We are extremely happy to implement this healthier alternative to fogging within the Green Community, DIP common areas, marking the largest deployment of Mosquito Control Systems within a development.
The deployment of these eco-friendly machines is aimed at promoting a sustainable lifestyle, safeguarding the health of the residents, and promoting outdoor activities across the lush green and peaceful Green Community,” he said.
According to Freejo Francis, Head of Owners Association, PID OAM, the new eco-friendly mosquito traps run on electricity, and they are a healthier alternative to traditional methods of mosquito and insect control. “PID OAM has been continuously working towards the seamless management of the community by adopting such innovations that are sustainable and ensuring that they are smartly and efficiently managed,” he said.
“The new system poses zero health hazards for the residents of Green Community, and it will encourage people to use their outdoor spaces more without worrying about mosquito bites,” said Adarsh Cherian, Community Management, PID OAM.
The Mosquito Control System will serve over 1185 villas and 596 units' common areas.
