Continuing the National Sterilisation Programme to reduce the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the emirate during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai Municipality has recruited 1,500 employees to implement its cleaning plan.
As part of this plan, the cleaning workers will be working around the clock to sterilise areas throughout Ramadan. Additionally, the municipality has also installed 41 waste storage devices around the emirate. In order to carry out the cleaning plan efficiently, Dubai Municipality has also put into place 23 cleaning mechanisms and equipment, which will be used in areas where it is needed the most.
Furthermore, the municipality has also made a team of 65 workers and 12 members of the supervisory team to follow up on emergency reports. Earlier, the Expo 2020 Dubai authorities initiated a sanitisation drive across its site in collaboration with various organisations including Dulsco, ADNH, Emrill, EFS, Farnek, Enova, and Dubai Municipality.
