Facility Management Premier League: GECO ME Wins Big at Inaugural Season 1 Cricket Tournament in Sharjah
 

The Facility Management Premier League (FMPL) concluded its action-packed Season 1 with GECO ME emerging as the champions in a highly competitive cricket tournament hosted at the DCS You Selects Arena Ground, Sharjah.

Organized by Trendz Events – Powered by Farnek and presented by O Gold App, the event brought together eight of the UAE’s top facility management firms for a spirited T10 championship promoting industry camaraderie and community engagement.

The two-day tournament was held June 13–14, featuring 13 matches, and culminated in a thrilling final between GECO ME and Al Tanmyah Super Kings. Al Tanmyah batted first, setting a target of 75 runs for 5 wickets in 10 overs. GECO ME chased it down in just 8.2 overs, sealing the win with a dramatic Instant Cash SIX. The team took home the FMPL Champion’s Trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of AED 5,000, while Al Tanmyah earned silver medals and the runner-up trophy.

The grand finale was attended by Chief Guest Abdullah Al Mamoon, Vice President – HR and Legal Affairs, Farnek and was further elevated by the presence of prominent personalities from the fashion and pageantry world, including Mrs International Women of Substance 2023 Swati Shemil, and other titleholders.

Tournament Highlights:

  • Man of the Match (Final): Asif Hayat – GECO ME

  • Most Runs: Abu Bakar Siddiqi – GECO ME (89 runs in 37 balls)

  • Best Bowler: Muddassir – White Spot (7 wickets, economy 3.33)

  • Best Batsman: Zeeshan – Khansaheb Engineering (151 runs)

  • Best Fielder / Most Dismissals: Afzal – Serve U

  • Man of the Series: Mohammed Waleed – Al Tanmyah Super Kings

The FMPL Season 1 event underscored the growing community spirit within the FM sector. 

FMPL Season 2

Buoyed by the success of the first edition, FMPL Season 2 is officially in the works and scheduled for February 2026, promising even greater participation and competition.
