Imdaad's CSR activities cover 500 schools

Imdaad, a leading FM service provider, has announced that its initiatives to educate the young on the importance of sustainability reached 500 schools and 50,000 students this year.

According to a press statement, the achievement is a significant milestone in Imdaad’s efforts to promote awareness on recycling and waste segregation that comes during the ‘Year of the 50th’ celebrations to commemorate 50 years of the nation’s founding.

Imdaad has three outreach and awareness programs: the Be’ati program to raise awareness among the nation’s young generation of the need for waste segregation and recycling, the ‘Envirocare Month’ campaign and the ‘Environment for Healthy Kids’ campaign to promote responsible waste management.

Jamal Lootah, Group CEO, Imdaad, said: “I congratulate our team for their contributions to helping Imdaad reach this remarkable target during the Year of the 50th. Our various initiatives to encourage community participation in recycling and waste segregation at source and promote the responsible use of resources are part of our efforts to support the UAE’s stated goal to be net-zero by 2050 and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by 75%. We are confident that our initiatives will empower the youth of the country and the region to make positive change that ensures long-term environmental sustainability.”

“Imdaad’s teams visited schools in Dubai as part of the awareness programs and conveyed the importance of environmental protection and sustainable development. Popular cartoon characters, fun activities, and exciting challenges were part of the awareness programs. They encouraged students’ participation in effective recycling, avoiding single-use plastics, preventing litter from ending up in the environment, minimising pollution, and conserving vital natural resources for the future. Imdaad’s awareness programs also reached the friends and family members of the children, inspiring them to adopt a more sustainable way of life,” a press release stated.

As one of the major waste management companies in the region, Imdaad conducts various initiatives to address the challenges of waste management, in line with its commitment to supporting the ambitious emissions goals of the nation and the region. In addition to different awareness programs targeting the younger generation, Imdaad organizes various campaigns to enhance community participation in sustainability initiatives. These include the ‘Reverse Vending Machine’ initiative implemented in cooperation with Dubai Customs, the ‘Bottle Recycling Challenge’ launched in cooperation with the Dubai Silicon Oasis
