Viega, the global manufacturer of pipe systems, has opened a dedicated Middle East subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates. The teams based in Dubai as well as Saudi Arabia will provide full project support to customers across the UAE, Saudi-Arabia and Qatar. Through the new subsidiary Viega will be ideally positioned to supply its German engineered press connection and pipe technology and offer its specialist support and expertise to projects in the region.
Viega, a family owned company founded over 115 years ago, was among the pioneers of press technology and now employs over 4000 people worldwide. As a leading manufacturer in the sector Viega offers solutions for copper, steel, stainless steel and plastic pipe applications - all certified to European and US quality standards. Among the latest innovations in the Viega range is Megapress. With this unique system, Viega introduced press connection technology for thick-walled steel tube to the market. In comparison to conventional welding, the system saves up to 60% assembly time.
Viega Middle East Trading FZE will deliver support and expertise to architects, consultants and contractors in the region, from specification guidance to technical and installation support throughout the project. With project timescales often under pressure, the local team will also help ensure that products are available and delivered to site exactly when required.
This high level of service and support has helped Viega to win contracts on some of the most prestigious projects worldwide such as the Porsche Design Tower in Florida, Barangaroo International Towers on the edge of Sydney Harbour and the Allianz Arena in Munich, the home of FC Bayern. In recent years Viega has also supplied its products and services to a number of high profile projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia including the Jabal Omar Development in Makkah and the Alstom HSRG factory in Rabigh.
