The recognition reflects Berkeley’s belief that its role as an integrated facilities management provider extends beyond service delivery. With a workforce of more than 10,000 employees supporting clients across the UAE, the company places people and their wellbeing at the centre of its approach to creating meaningful social impact.
Turning Commitment into Action
Guided by a 12-month CSR calendar, Berkeley conducts initiatives throughout the year to encourage employee participation, raise awareness of important social and environmental causes, and strengthen community engagement.
Its partnership with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) supports its commitment to environmental responsibility and collective action. Regular health screenings and wellbeing activities across staff accommodation facilities further demonstrate Berkeley’s focus on supporting its workforce, including the frontline employees who play a vital role in the UAE’s built environment.
These efforts form part of a broader commitment to responsible business. Berkeley is committed to aligning its practices with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and strengthening its environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
In 2026, Berkeley was awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal, ranking in the 91st percentile globally and among the top 15% of companies assessed. The company also achieved the highest maturity level under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce ESG Label 2026, reflecting its progress in embedding responsible business practices into its operations.
Together, these initiatives reflect Berkeley’s approach to connecting employee wellbeing, environmental responsibility and community engagement with its wider business objectives.
Commenting on the recognition, Karl-Heinz Otto Mair, CEO of Berkeley Services and CEO International of Klüh Multiservices, said:
"At Berkeley, we believe that the true measure of our success lies not only in the services we deliver, but also in the difference we make to people's lives. Our people are at the heart of our business, and our responsibility extends to the communities we serve and the environments we help shape every day.
This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our teams and the value of working closely with our clients and strategic partners to create meaningful impact. We remain committed to building a business where care for people, responsible practices and operational excellence go hand in hand, because progress is most meaningful when it benefits people and communities alike."
The Gold award reinforces Berkeley’s commitment to creating positive change through employee engagement, strategic partnerships and responsible business practices, contributing to the wellbeing of its people and the communities it serves across the UAE.
