Khansaheb FM & CMC Hospital gain the coveted JCI accreditation

The Facilities Management Company, Khansaheb FM (KFM) is proud to announce the success of their latest project with CMC Hospital in Dubai. With notable efforts and efficient teamwork, KFM has helped CMC Hospital gain the esteemed JCI accreditation successfully. The Joint Commission (JCI) is a United States-based non-profit working to accredit hospitals and healthcare facilities nationally and internationally. The organization is focused on improving healthcare for the public by offering its accreditation to hospitals that meet the criteria and excel in all the fields pre-determined by JCI.

KFM started planning for this project almost a year before CMC hospital applied for the JCI accreditation. After extensively reviewing the FMS Chapter 7 in the JCI Accreditation document, KFM was able to start working on all the changes and quality management improvements needed in the hospital. With a mission to offer full-spectrum facilities management solutions to its clients, the KFM team oversees all tasks from start to end, during the project life cycle. This enables the CMC management team to focus on their primary function of successfully running the Hospital.

Oliver Sawle, General Manager at Khansaheb FM made an official press statement to discuss all the work that went into making this project a success. "Here at KFM, we leverage a unique business model to ensure that the facilities management solutions provided by us are truly effective and sustainable. We work around the clock to focus on small details and intricacies because that is the standard of quality our team aims to deliver. Working with the CMC Hospital, we hired and trained all the facilities manpower, sub-contractors, and specialist contractors to complete all tasks in alignment with the JCI standards, while our management team strategized the entire project in order to ensure effortless execution at every step", he said.

KFM effectively utilized the hospital's data and service history to devise smart solutions that were tailored not only to meet the JCI standards but also to offer a hassle-free experience to the CMC Hospital management. Overall, KFM curated all the manpower and team effort needed to fast-track the project and bring CMC Hospital up to JCI accreditation standards. Once the improvements were made, in-depth testing was conducted ahead of the JCI Audit to ensure that the hospital's soft and hard systems, such as generators, fire safety, medical gas, speakers, lifeline systems, software alerts, and infection control systems, etc., were all fully functional.

Commenting on the collaboration, John-Aziz Maalouf, Director of Facility and Clinical Engineering, CMC Hospital, said, “There are moments in which groups of people stand together, united, working to achieve an important goal, and it is in those moments that a person discerns who they can depend on. Khansaheb FM was instrumental and vital in the endeavour of working for and achieving CMC Dubai’s first JCI accreditation and passing with flying colours as a new hospital. It has been a great experience collaborating with them and we appreciate their work.”

As per the JCI Audit, CMC Hospital has been awarded an overall score of 99.5%. This was the hospital's very first JCI Audit and KFM played a vital role in the success of the audit. CMC Hospital has now received accreditation for 3 years.
