Rheem Middle East Introduces Wave Series: Smart Commercial Pool Inverter Heat Pumps For The MEA Market

Rheem, a global manufacturer of HVACR and water heating products, is launching Wave Series in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) market, a new generation of commercial inverter pool heat pumps designed specifically for the climate conditions and operational requirements of the region.

Rheem Wave combines efficiency with new generation design. The Rheem IQ® Intelligent Controller embedded into the pumps monitors the pool temperature and intelligently adjusts the heating schedules, maximizing moments of low-priced electricity to significantly reduce costs. This also allows operators to automate energy‑saving strategies, and minimize manual intervention.

Developed to meet the MEA region’s evolving sustainability requirements, the latest inverter technology has been integrated to optimize compressor and fan speed.  EEV3 Electronic Expansion Valve technology precisely regulates refrigerant flow, helping maximize energy efficiency and deliver reliable, precise performance.

Simultaneously, significant environmental benefits are achieved through the use of R32 refrigerant, which offers up to one-third lower global warming potential compared to the widely used R410A. Refrigerant R32 provides high cooling power with lower emissions, meaning Rheem Wave delivers low environmental impact and improves energy efficiency. Designed to integrate with solar power, the heat pumps can also adjust settings to optimize solar availability.

Brian Hempenstall, Vice President and General Manager at Rheem Middle East, said: “The Wave Series expands our portfolio of solutions engineered specifically for MEA, where efficiency, reliability and comfort are of paramount importance to the region's growing hotel, commercial and residential sector. Rheem Wave sets new standards in efficiency and control, providing next-generation design, intelligent systems, and industry leading sustainability credentials.”

Developed for hotels, leisure clubs, residential communities, wellness centers, and large aquatic facilities, the Wave Series is built for efficient, reliable operation in demanding commercial environments.

Alongside seamless integration with Building Management Systems (BMS), Night Mode is available specifically for locations with noise restrictions, delivering whisper-quiet operation and higher Coefficient of Performance (COP). Rapid Boost Mode also allows facilities managers to heat up the pool quickly with maximum power on demand.

The unique fan and coil design delivers compact efficiency, reducing space requirements without sacrificing heating power, and the marine-grade aluminum construction, Rheem Cote anti-corrosion treated evaporator, and titanium heat exchanger delivers long term reliability in demanding environments with high salination and coastal humidity.

With this launch, Rheem continues to advance integrated comfort solutions that balance innovation, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. This builds on the company’s 100-year legacy of innovation and reinforces its commitment to developing technologies designed for the unique climate conditions of the MEA market.
