An advocate for new technologies in FM, Tariq Chauhan has been an instrumental figure in the growth of EFS Facilities Services Group from a 100mn company to a 1bn company in less than a decade.
In his current role as group CEO, he has transformed EFS into an international powerhouse in integrated facilities management that operates in 21 countries in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia region.
A seasoned professional, Chauhan has gained global respect and recognition for establishing EFS as an international premium facilities management brand.
Chauhan has enhanced operations at EFS and tracked continuous growth and learning in 2021 by creating platforms for upskilling the blue-collar workforce.
Under his leadership, EFS has been proactive in supporting UAE initiatives and goals, as well as using technology and innovation to support remote working through automatic and real-time monitoring.
His ability to find opportunities in adversity encouraged the company to view Covid-19 as an opportunity to transform and attain technological preparedness.
During Covid-19, he led the response internally and externally, achieving full client retention and employee retention through innovative management strategies to create a safe environment.
In addition to these, he also took on steps to spread awareness of the pandemic through multiple drives.
A humanitarian by nature, Chauhan has contributed immensely to the well-being of EFS’s blue-collar workforce.
He is a people-first CEO with an open-door policy, actively engaging with the blue-collar workforce to ensure employee satisfaction and encourage self-actualisation and growth outside the job.
Besides this, he has initiated numerous initiatives for employee engagement and education to help them rise within the company.
Arati Rai, executive secretary to the CEO, says, “I joined EFS as a housekeeping attendant, and in less than 36 months, I rose to the position of executive secretary, where I assist in managing reception and related support services at the Group CEO’s office. At the advice of Group CEO Tariq Chauhan I went through training, learning, and upskilling programs within EFS, which helped me advance my career from housekeeping to the responsibility of managing secretarial activities for a billion-dollar company.”
At the annual EFS Carnival, which celebrates talent and compassion demonstrated by the blue-collar employees, he regularly awards those who are making an impact within the organization and outside.
In 2021, he created ‘Abhaar’, a worker welfare association established under the patronage of EFS Facilities Services Group in India.
Abhaar provides a platform for the upliftment of workers. It helps workers identify job opportunities overseas and in the rehabilitation and settlement of returning workers.
