How will Expo 2020 influence the Community Management Industry?

Being hit by the global pandemic a year ago, Expo 2020 plays a principal role in global economic recovery. It opens the door to opportunity, collaboration & innovation. With that said, the Community Management Industry in UAE (Dubai especially) unquestionably garners the positive impact of this worldwide event. Glen Aranha, Director - Community Management, Luxury Owner’s Association Management Services, writes about how the event will affect the community management industry.

The number of stakeholders investing in the UAE has scaled up, not to mention the expat's willingness to live and make a living in this country, rose as well.

The opening of UAE to the world will bring endless possibilities and numerous opportunities, the halted real-estate projects will now resume to completion, and will pave the way to new portfolios to be managed by community management companies.

Another concept that will continue to rise is the management of plug-and-play community concepts, which makes moving in from another country as easy as 1,2, and 3. The idea is simple and easy, leaning towards the convenience of the residents' side but the challenge for the community management company is high, the upkeep of peace and order, safety and security, harmonious living is no joke and will test the skills of a good community manager.

What other improvements or changes can be expected post Expo 2020:

Expo 2020's vision is in line with the UAE's year of preparation for the next 50 as stated by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces:

The year of preparation for the next fifty requires community collaboration to advance our development drive and its sustainability, and fulfill our aspirations to a better future for our UAE.

There is a lot in store for investors, expats, and current residents of the UAE. Therefore, expect growth in community management opportunities, an increase in the need for community managers, high expectations of community initiatives, and innovations in projects and techniques.

The essence of the Community Management Industry:

I always believe that Community Management is the heart of a growing nation, the mediator, and the advocate of harmonious living. The instrument that helps co-living in a foreign country with the diverse neighborhood as peaceful, enjoyable, and safe as possible.

The impact of Expo 2020 on the Community Managers:

The opening of Expo 2020 widens the horizons of Community Managers. The management style, approach, problem-solving skills, and communication techniques are evolving. We are learning from fellow community manager professionals from different parts of the world. We have always witnessed and embraced diversity in this field and what excites me more is the unashamed growth of the industry towards equal opportunity.
