WiredScore, the global leader in rating digital connectivity and smart technology in real estate, announced the launch of WiredScore certification for Homes in the Middle East. This launch comes amid a period of rapid regional growth for the certification body, which has now registered more than 200 buildings for certification across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and most recently, Egypt.
In line with this exciting product launch, the company has released its latest research report highlighting the rapid emergence of demand for well-connected and smart homes across the Middle East. The report, titled ‘Smart Living: The Trends Transforming our Homes’, reveals that nine in ten residents are willing to pay a premium, of an average 2.3%, for a residence that includes smart technology features.
Fast and reliable internet connectivity from day one is expected as standard by 89% of residents today. Furthermore, almost half (42%) of the population work from home regularly,
which means Wi-Fi speed and stability are of utmost importance to the population. Leading the way, Majid Al Futtaim, KAFD DMC, Alpago Properties, and R.Evolution are the first
real estate owners and developers to undergo WiredScore certification for Homes in the region.
These landlords and developers are committed to delivering an exceptional resident experience, underpinned by fast and reliable digital connectivity and smart technology features
across their respective communities, districts and buildings; namely, Ghaf Woods, the King Abdullah Financial District, Palm Flower, and both EYWA Tree of Life & EYWA Way of Water.
In addition to these developers, WiredScore is also collaborating with leading Middle East real estate professional services firms through its Accredited Professional programme, including AESG, Cavendish Maxwell, CKR, ComplexITy, Cundall, Egis, Elevation, JLL, Knight Frank and WSP. The programme trains professionals to assess and elevate the digital connectivity and smart technology capabilities of buildings through certification, ensuring a standardised approach to technology infrastructure globally.
Commenting on the launch, John Hilliard, Head of Middle East, WiredScore, said, “As our research shows, the modern resident places a strong emphasis on a technology-enabled home environment. Through their early adoption of WiredScore certification for Homes, this group of market leaders has demonstrated their commitment to providing the very best by global standards.”
Furthermore, Arie Barendrecht, WiredScore’s Founder & CEO, added, “Our launch of WiredScore certification for Homes into the Middle East, driven by the growing demand from residents for a technology-enabled living experience, is another hugely exciting milestone for our growth in the region. We are delighted to bring our expertise to the Middle East’s
burgeoning residential market and proud to be working with some of the most forward-thinking owners, developers and real estate consultants in this exciting market to help push forward improvements and recognise the landlords that are leading the way.”
